Recently my husband and I went shopping at our local hardware store in search of the perfect showerhead. Now lest you think this sounds like an enjoyable afternoon of shopping and spouse bonding…think again. Spending any amount of time in a hardware store (let alone with my scrupulous – but charming – husband) is about as fun as getting a root canal.

After a bit of research, we found that a low-flow showerhead can reduce water consumption by up to 30%. And according to the EPA, Americans use an average of 100 gallons of water each day. So not only are we reducing our waste of a precious natural resource, our decreased usage directly translates to a lower water bill (music to my hubby’s ear!). Who knew going green via the showerhead could be so simple and advantageous?
