There are so many successful businesses; it makes me wonder what their secret it. I’ve recently found out that one great way to promote your business is to find a great firm that deals with Utah SEO. You know, I love to hear when things help out the little guys rather than those huge multi-million dollar corporations, food chains, and grocery stores. The little guys just can’t compete. The little ma and pa shops close down and the consumer loses that great customer service that is expected from family stores. One reason the little guys can’t compete is because their revenue can’t even compare to the big guys. From online project management to time clocks, things are beginning to become more accessible for the little companies. It helps level out the playing field a bit, and I do mean just a bit. But at least it is something. I hope those companies continue to help out the under-dog.

My uncle is in the truck driving business; he just loves being on the road. He really gets excited when talking about his freight truck and Utah heavy hauling. Believe me, he tells me ALL about it. One thing that I did find interesting was that the military was the first to start experimenting with using freight trucks with rubber tires. They started doing this during World War II. Apparently, they needed a more effective way to transport cargo to the troops. Pretty interesting. Anyway, it is nice to see someone who really loves his job. It is a nice change to hearing the average person talk about their jobs.

My brother was tired of his annoying boss so this year he decided to make a change. He switched his job from the office to the road. He’s always liked to drive and enjoys a change of pace frequently. That’s why he looked for truck driver jobs and began truck driver school. He gets to enjoy a varied schedule and is home every week to see his fiance. Perhaps I’ll make a change too…

Rather than getting a second job if you can’t pull in more money at work, organize your life and make money while doing it.

First, sell your extra items on eBay. Burn extra CDs and DVDs and sell the original. Anything you don’t use, sell.

Next, start using a wholesale dropship service to sell niche items at your own set retail price. It saves you the time of buying inventory and shipping products.

Continue this trend and you can make a great side income that may even blossom into a full-time income. Get selling!

After graduating from high school, I wanted to take a break from school and explore my possibilities. I’d always been really interested in working in TV or broadcasting, but I didn’t want to jump into a boring and competitive communications program at a college.

I obtained a full-time job and began to build my networking skills and continued to play around with the idea of working in TV. While surfing the web one day, I came across a great broadcasting internship. It seemed perfect for me. Not only did it let me continue to work at my present job, but the internship provided me a mentor and gave me experience working at a real TV news station.

The internship was less expensive than school, so I could use my saved money for college and some financial assistance to cover it. I’m so excited to start learning about the career of my dreams!

I love that now you can listen to music on hold when calling cell phones and businesses. I prefer listening to upbeat, modern music while waiting rather than listening to silence.

Besides listening to music, maybe I should advertise my services on my cell phone while people are waiting for me to pick up. My husband recently started his own company and as a small business owner, he understands the fine line of smart budgeting in order to be profitable and smart purchasing. 

Some things he (wisely) can live without; others not so much.  Take for example, his new Mac computer he had to have “in order to conduct a successful business” or the Avaya IP Office he is having installed.  Not that I am complaining!  Both may have been a hefty initial price tag, but things are starting to pay off as his company starts to take flights. 

On the other hand, he has held off hiring another employee until his monthly profit increases and he knows for sure he can support an additional salary. 

I am slowly but surely learning the ways of a small business.  He is very patient and supportive of my “endeavors” to help him.  Wish us luck!
